The Council

More Information
For more information about the Council, please call

The Council forms the intellectual and social heart of City Opera. With its distinguished roster of members, the Council holds a unique position in the cultural community, generating excitement for the company, broadening and strengthening City Opera's base of support and attracting new audiences.

The Council is made up of contributors who make an annual gift of $10,000 or more to New York City Opera who along with an advisory committee of prominent artists, writers and cultural leaders, form an advocacy body to support the company in achieving its artistic mission. The Council joins the Board of Directors in supporting efforts to promote the highest artistic standards through a theatrical style of production and adventurous choices in repertory.
