With over thirty-five years experience in arts-in-education programs, City Opera has developed innovative and substantive public and private school arts partnerships. Following the City Opera mission to present opera in an engaging and thought provoking manner, our Education programs provide students of all ages with tools to discover the connections between the opera, the larger world, and their own lives. Since revising our programs in 1993, Opera is Elementary, The Middle School Opera and Literacy Project, and The High School Partnerships have grown into national models of arts-in-education.

Opera is Elementary each year allows elementary school students to explore one classic opera based on fairy tale, myth, or legend.

Middle School Opera Project offers in-depth residencies linking opera to creative writing and an exploration of the rehearsal, design, and composition process.

The High School Partnerships are intensive collaborations with public high schools relating the arts, and opera in particular, to students' lives and to other disciplines.
